The Soviet Tupolev ANT-16 heavy bomber emerged in 1933 crewed by twelve with six engines, 54-metre wingspan, and 32-metre fuselage. Its 200 km/h speed and 1000-kilometre range equipped it for long-range bombing operations. The ANT-16 represented Soviet ambitions in large-scale military aircraft production during the early 1930s.
