The Sukhoi Su-2, which first flew in 1937, is a Soviet short-range bomber accommodating two pilots. Measuring 10.5 meters long with a 14.3-meter wingspan and single engine, this aircraft achieves 485 km/h with a 1,100-kilometer range. The Su-2 represents Soviet reconnaissance-bomber development during prewar rearmament. Its two-seat configuration provided pilot and observer or gunner specialization. The aircraft's practical performance and load-carrying capability positioned it for tactical support missions during Soviet military operations of the late 1930s and World War II.
