The Piaggio P.6 was an Italian catapult-launched reconnaissance floatplane that first flew in 1927, designed for operation from battleships and cruisers. Featuring a 13.5-meter wingspan and 195 kilometers per hour maximum speed, it provided naval forces with reconnaissance capability from extended distances. The floatplane design allowed launch and recovery from capital ships without requiring extensive catapult infrastructure. This specialized platform contributed to Italian naval aviation development.
