Heinkel's HD 33 scout bomber of 1925 combined reconnaissance and bombing capability in a single airframe. At 11.2 metres long with an 15-metre wingspan, this single-engine design achieved 230 km/h—respectable for a multi-role aircraft of the period. Its designation reflected the German doctrine of combining observation and strike capability in compact, efficient platforms.
