The SOKO 522, which first flew in 1955, is a Yugoslav training and light attack aircraft accommodating two pilots. Measuring 9.2 meters long with an 11-meter wingspan, this single-engine aircraft achieves 351 km/h with a 978-kilometer range. The 522 represents Eastern Bloc aircraft development during the emerging Cold War, combining training utility with ground-attack capability. Its twin-seat configuration and practical performance envelope positioned it for both instructional operations and light tactical missions across Yugoslav military requirements.
