The 1905 Wright Flyer III continued the Wright brothers' experimental aviation work with single engine, 12.3-metre wingspan, and 8.5-metre fuselage. Achieving 56 km/h and 40-kilometre range represented significant progress in sustained, controlled flight. The Flyer III refined the revolutionary concepts of its predecessors.
