The Short Gurnard, which first flew in 1929, is a British naval fleet fighter representing interwar combat aircraft development. This single-seat, single-engine aircraft measures 8.7 meters long with an 11.3-meter wingspan, achieving 257.5 km/h. Designed for carrier deployment, the Gurnard reflected the aeronautical priorities of 1920s naval aviation.
