The Kaman K-16B experimental tiltwing aircraft represented bold exploration of vertical take-off concepts with two-engine power. Its unusual 11.7-metre fuselage and 10.4-metre span achieved 321.9 km/h with tilting rotors enabling transition from helicopter to fixed-wing flight. The two-crew configuration supported experimental operations.
