The Douglas A2D Skyshark first flew in 1950 as a single-engine American attack aircraft. Piloted by one crew member, it achieved 792 km/h and presented a 15.2-meter wingspan. This jet-powered platform brought high-speed strike capability to postwar naval aviation.
