LET L-200 Morava

GAPiston twin-engine

Last updated: 2026-04-21

The LET L-200 Morava is a Czechoslovak-designed twin-engine piston aircraft from the 1950s, powered by two Walter Minor engines, now used for MEP(L) training and heritage flying at Czech and Slovak ATOs. It is a workhorse of European EASA general-aviation training fleets, used at both DTO and ATO operators for hour-building and rating progression. Its twin-engine configuration is widely used for MEP and IR training under EASA Part-FCL.

What is the LET L-200 Morava used for in flight training?

The Morava represents a niche but historically significant training aircraft in Central European aviation. Czech and Slovak ATOs operating legacy Morava fleets provide MEP training at lower costs than equivalent Western types, supported by domestic engine and parts supply. Students encounter conventional twin-engine procedures including asymmetric flight, gear operation, and fuel system management. The Morava's designation as a classic aircraft type also qualifies it for certain Eastern European vintage-aviation endorsements.
