Extending the Eindecker series into late 1915, the E.IV improved to 170 km/h maximum speed while maintaining the revolutionary synchronized-gun armament. The 7.5-meter fuselage and 10-meter wingspan provided balanced proportions, while 240-kilometer range extended patrol missions. This variant served through 1916.
